India Highlights

I had to include some photos from various experiences in India. I have been back in Indy for over a week, and I am still astonished by my time in Southeast Asia! I still have much to share with friends and family, so I hope you continue to check in with my FalconTraveler Blog.
Outside Amber Fort in Jaipur.  This dude offered elephant rides up to the Fort.  Not sure of the cost, but when Mary Beth asked to take his picture, he was more than willing - as long as she paid him!  Seriously?  For taking a photo?
Fort Amber surrounded by Aravali Hills.  Dazzling views!
17th Century Jama Masjid (Friday Mosque).  Was not very happy having to don a  type of  hijab before being allowed to enter the mosque.  I'm doubting that these "robes" have met with soap and water any time recent.  At least we didn't have to wear a burqa!
Not sure why these poor elephants were painted.  Absolutely no dignity!
Narrow street market.  So much colorful ware it was mind-boggling!
More treacherous terrain on our safari and no seatbelts in our jeep.  We were holding on for dear life!
Fort Amber tour.  We decided to pass on the  experience of climbing these steps in 100+ degree temperature.
These placemats and napkins are block-printed cottons from Jaipur. Mughal Emperors loved this kind of fabric and design, and their imperial courts featured delicate floral sprays on white, pastel blue, or yellow fine cotton.
I must confess, I have absolutely no idea where this temple is located.  I remember it was magnificent, but that's about it.
More block printed cotton fabric.  In India they sell by the meter which was terribly confusing when purchasing.
Veritable evidence that I went on a safari for those naysayers who believed I was too prissy to do so.
