Return to Yangon from Mandalay

After spending several stimulating days in Mandalay, we returned to the city of Yangon for one more day before departing Myanmar for India.  Our guide, May, took us for a stroll along Kandawgyi Lake (located directly behind our hotel) while viewing a colossal reclining Buddha Chaukhtatkyi.  Learned that it is believed that the reclining position of a Buddha statue symbolizes death and reaching nirvana.  I had no idea how much "information" there is on the history of Buddha and how the stories differ by region. It is all terribly confusing!  For more information I suggest you do a little research on your own.  I'm clueless! Regardless, the photos of the statues and sculptures are incredibly thrilling.
