Bagan is located in the central part of Myanmar on the Ayeyarwaddy River. There are 4,446 ancient monuments in a 20 square mile area. We saw pagodas stupas, temples, ordination halls, and monasteries. A couple of the monasteries had murals, glaze plaques, and stone carvings dating back to the year 1130! It was thrilling walking along the same paths as so many Burmese ancestors. Check out some great scenes Marybeth captured while we toured.
