After we visited the school we ventured over to a small village that was just a few steps from the school yard. Most of the villagers were out plowing fields or selling their products in a nearby market, but we were able to find a few at work in their homes. We met a very lovely septuagenarian who welcomed us into her humble home. She told us she has two grandchildren who live with her (this was translated through our guide Aung Aung) and had grown up in this same village. The experience was quite heartwarming.
